The workshop started off with our very own Trevor Taylor giving a talk on the classic brands and what makes them so successful in all parts of the world. Also what social media tools are used in China and how to use that to your advantage.
Helped by a panel of experts (Wayne Chao Directory of AGE Media Group and Daniela Hongell Owner & Consultant of hongell&me) Trevor answered questions and lead a discussion on good ways to adjust your brand to the china market

After a brief break Liz Holland-Clarke took the lead with a very informative talk about what exactly a trademark is and the best ways to go about protecting your Trademark, specifically both in Australia and China. She discussed why it is important to protect your branding as a Trademark, the difference between copyright and a trademark, the value of registering your branding as a Trademark , what actually makes a good trade mark and all the things you should think about before you even start filling out your application. As well as many more in depth topics that truly showed the value of having an expert do it for you.
